Could you please briefly introduce yourself and tell us what you are studying, at which university, and in which semester?
I am Julius, 28 years old. I am studying at Goethe University in Frankfurt in my 11th semester. I already completed the state portion of the exam in 2023 and am currently waiting for the final grade of my Law and Finance specialization.
Why did you decide to study law?
The choice of study followed my rhetoric studies in Tübingen, where I had already taken law as a minor. By the end of my bachelor's degree, I enjoyed working with statutes and case law more than my major, which is why I went on to study law.
What was your second career choice, and why did you still decide on law?
My second career choice was to be a doctor. I believe that the practical work and the outcome of a patient's recovery would have brought me a lot of joy, but the scientific studies and the rote learning deterred me.
Doctors are trained to assess complex and constantly new situations using their acquired knowledge and to find solutions. On a different level, lawyers work in a similar way.
I believe that is ultimately what prompted me to study law. Unlike medicine, law combines the best of both worlds for me: I can use my linguistic skills while simultaneously diving deep into socially relevant topics. I am particularly fascinated by political and economic contexts.
How did you become aware of our law firm?

Through the many practical tasks, my eye for problems and their solutions is sharpened. Furthermore, working alongside my studies brings variety to everyday university life and opens up perspectives for my future work as a lawyer.
Do you have a message you would like to share with potential applicants?
At the beginning of one's professional life, one should not be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes.
Is there a book that has particularly inspired or impressed you?
Martin Suter - The Dark Side of the Moon. The novel is about a successful corporate lawyer who falls into a life crisis after consuming hallucinogenic mushrooms.
When you think of films, is there a scene that has particularly stuck in your memory?
Quentin Tarantino - Pulp Fiction: The "Royale with cheese" dialogue between John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson:
VINCENT: I know, baby, you'd dig it the most.. But you know what the funniest thing about Europe is?
JULES: What?
VINCENT: It's the little differences. I mean, they got the same shit over there they got here, but, it's just, just, there it's a little different.
JULES: Example?
VINCENT: Alright, you can walk into a movie theatre in Amsterdam and buy a beer. And I don't mean just like in no paper cup. I'm talking about a glass of beer. And in Paris, you can buy a beer at McDonald's. And you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
JULES: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?
VINCENT: No, they got the metric system there, they wouldn't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.
JULES: Then what do they call it?
VINCENT: They call it Royale with Cheese.

There is always a way.
