Westend Bank Expands Family Office Platform with Real Estate Management

GxG Legal advised Westend Bank AG on the acquisition of all shares in Westend Estates GmbH (formerly 7280 Property Management). With this transaction, Westend Bank secures a new business segment.

The Frankfurt-based bank is wholly owned by the Hopp Family Office. It pursues a beyond-banking model, positioning itself as a Family Office bank for affluent families, companies, and institutional investors. Its service portfolio previously included real estate, corporate, and tangible asset financing, as well as Family Office services. With Westend Estates, which specializes in the management of commercial properties, the bank is complementing its platform with comprehensive real estate administration. Its clients thus receive a broad spectrum of real estate solutions under the umbrella of Westend Bank.

“With the acquisition of this professional property manager, we are expanding our Family Office platform to include comprehensive real estate administration with high standards for service, quality, and sustainable value development,” explains Thomas Rosenfeld, Spokesman of the Board of Westend Bank.

Westend Estates also welcomes the change of ownership. “We are delighted to have Westend Bank as a new shareholder, which can strategically develop Westend Estates further and sustainably support its growth,” says Claudia Keppke, Director of Westend Estates.

The acquisition marks another step in the strategic development of Westend Bank as a Family Office bank. It combines financing expertise and asset management with operational real estate expertise.

GxG Legal provided comprehensive legal advice to Westend Bank throughout the entire transaction, from legal due diligence and structuring to the negotiation and implementation of the transaction documentation.

“With this acquisition, Westend Bank is specifically expanding its offering for Family Offices and consolidating financing and real estate expertise under one roof. We are pleased to have supported them in this strategic step,” says Dr. Nikita Gontschar, Managing Partner at GxG Legal.
