Building Scale and Resilience in the Aviation Sector

GxG Legal advised Aerowest on the acquisition of Businesswings Luftfahrtunternehmen GmbH, marking an important strategic step in the continued scaling of Aerowest’s aviation platform.

The transaction adds a second Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and increases the operating fleet to 17 aircraft, significantly expanding Aerowest’s operational flexibility and footprint across cargo and business aviation.

For Aerowest, the acquisition provides meaningful reinforcement in diversifying its service offering – ranging from executive charters, ambulance and organ transportation flights to comprehensive cargo charter solutions. With true 24/7 year-round operational capabilities, Aerowest further positions itself as a short-notice specialist for complex and time-critical missions, including critical organ transport, AOG support, spare-parts logistics and last-minute business travel – anywhere, anytime.

With Businesswings, the 1968-established Aerowest Group grows to approximately 120 employees, operating from Hannover, Kassel, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. In addition to the 17 aircraft operated across two AOCs, Aerowest also incorporates its own Part-145 MRO facility, further strengthening operational resilience and technical depth.

A strong example of how M&A, platform expansion and aviation-specific expertise come together to support scalable growth in a highly regulated environment.
